Joomla team has announced that development of Joomla 1.0 will be discontinued from July 2009. That is less than 9 months away. As it is, there isn't going to be any update to Joomla 1.0, unless there is a massive security flaw.
How will this affect you ? Well, if you are totally happy with your current site, you can keep it the way it is forever.
Need to move to latest platform - Joomla! 1.5?

and we will analyse your site and give you recommendation and action plan for the site upgrade. During the analyze we will also determine what plugins you are currently using and determine if the same component exist for Joomla 1.5
For our Club Members what does this mean to your membership.
Currently, we maintain both Joomla! 1.0 and Joomla! 1.5 version at no additional cost. This is however is extremely time consuming.
Therefore, we would like to announce that moving forward,
- All our new template effective from December 1, 2008 will be release for Joomla 1.5
- For club members that plan to run Joomla 1.0, we will continue to support all our current Joomla 1.0 templates for any customer with valid membership.
- Effectively immediately we will begin converting most of our Joomla 1.0 to Joomla 1.5 so that your migration can be done easily with 1.5 templates.
If you have a valid club membership and you are in need a particular Joomla 1.0 converted to Joomla 1.5 please submit your request and we will be selecting from our Joomla 1.0 based on popular demand. |
